Kananaskiker III – Price Structure
Stage Race – 2 Day Stage Race (2 day Omnium – Super D & Marathon)
- From now until April 1st - $80 + $4 registration fee + donation to MitoCanada
- April 2 – June 29 at noon - $100 + $4 + donation
Super D only
- $60 + $4 + donation
- April 2 – June 29 at noon - $70 + $4 + donation
Note
- If you need a day license they are $10 and racers will race in the sport class
- Everyone (all categories) will race the same distance in both events
- Any refunds will be registration fees less $15

Kids Race (happening after the Super D) – $5 at the start linePlanning your race season? Don't miss this one! Probably the most fun you can have in two days on a mountain bike! Set in the beautiful Bow Valley, this race combines some of the Nordic Centre's best classic and new trails. The first day, you can rip it up in the Super D and still have plenty of time to enjoy Canmore and Banff. But make sure to save some energy for the premiere event on Monday morning: a marathon-style cross-country race. This race will be approximately 60km in length and is sure to challenge all abilities. Registration will be coming soon on Zone 4. See you there!

Kananaskicker is upon us!!

Race Dates – June 2 & 3 2012

Entry Fee - $105 on line www.zone4.ca

It’s all or nothing – NO separate fees for each event, "Kananaskiker II" ball cap for the first 125 stage race entrants.

On-line Registration ends @ noon Friday June 3 -2011. $10 from every entry will go to Cause Canada's Sierra Leone Maternal support charity.

Package pick up – Friday June 1 from 6 – 8pm in person at the Bicycle Café Canmore

and again Saturday morning from 8am to 8:30am

All Parking is at the Canmore Nordic Centre – you must ride down to the start for Saturday’s XC

Race Format – 3 Event Mountain Bike Race using Omnium scoring (points accumulation)

Point Scoring – the points schedule is the same for each event and for each category – in the event of a tie the winner shall be determined by the faster time up the Stage III HC

Categories (all single licensed riders must ride sport category)

Open men

Men 40+

Sport men

Open women

Women 40+

Sport women

Do you have to complete each event to start the next? – The answer is no, you are able to start each event regardless if you started or finished the previous event.

Stage I – MTB XC – Marathon format or point to point – Start on Main St Canmore race up to Canmore Nordic Centre through a challenging xc course finish atop the high point of the course. 2-3hr race.

Stage II – XC Time Trial – Main Stadium Canmore Nordic Centre – the xc time trial course will be a shorter variation of the Lap 2 from Saturday’s XCP and is approx. 8km in length.

Stage III – Once we have some fatigue in those legs – we present the final stage: a 3.5km uphill individual time trial which promises to test the riders’ stamina (those that have completed all previous stages anyway) Here is some course info via Garmin –

The king of the mountain wrapped up last wednesday with John firth Winning the XC race to take the overall win and take the BC Bike Race Entry!!!! In the Womens category Stephanie Wilkinson took the overall lead. A big thanks to BC Bike race for donating the Prize and to Rundle Mountain Cycling Club especiallly Alairc Fish for helping to organize!!

The king of the Mountain will happen tonight(pending weather) at the Nordic centre. The meeting place will be 5:30 at the biathalon stadium. Awards will follow in the day lodge with pizza and snacks!! See you tonight!!!

A 3 Wednesday race series in conjunction with RUNDLE MOUNTAIN CYCLING CLUB toonie races.
The races will consist of a XC, hill climb and DH race. Points will be awarded for each race and the overall winner will be crowned KING OF THE MOUNTAIN and receive a FREE ENTRY TO THE BC BIKE RACE 2011!!!!!!!!

All racers will be required to do all races on the same bike.
All racers must be a cycling club affiliate for insurance purposes.

In it's third year, the Tour for Kids ride follows a spectacular route through Banff National Park andthe Icefields parkwayfinishing in Calgary. Cyclists choose to ride daily distancesofeither100 km/dayor 170 km/day with the full support ofmechanics, medical staffand the road crew. The Tour for Kids event has raised over $375,000 in its first two years with 100% of thefunds going directly to the camp through the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta.
